Founder & Executive Director of the Net
As a graduate from Dallas Baptist University, Melissa has been involved in and employed by different Christian organizations and churches for the past 12 years. Prior to The Net, she served on a church staff as the Missional Director, equipping people how to serve the poor. She first gained her heart for serving through traveling overseas on mission trips over a dozen times to places like China, Nepal, Morocco and Ghana. Melissa is currently the Founder and Executive Director of The Net which began when a group of TCU college students started building relationships with people experiencing homelessness back in 2010.
Purchased Director of Aftercare
Jordan moved to Texas from California in 2010 to pursue a degree in Psychology and Child Development from Texas Christian University. During her college years, Jordan worked with foster youth in residential facilities implementing trauma-informed care, it was there where she developed a passion for walking alongside those who have been marginalized. After graduation, Jordan spent a year in grad school under Karyn Purvis and David Cross at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU studying Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) before getting hired on staff at The Net in 2015. As the Purchased Director of Aftercare, Jordan gets the privilege of seeing women walk in freedom from sexual exploitation everyday, and has the joy of overseeing and equipping Purchased volunteers as they walk alongside them to help them rediscover their value and worth.
Executive Director of The Net
A Fort Worth native and TCU political science grad, Ty hasn’t had to go very far to pursue his passions. While at TCU, Ty began volunteering with The Net in 2013. Now the Associate Director, he spends his days preaching the gospel of task management software to his coworkers, as well as managing the Ladera Kids and MASE programs. Ty is passionate about bringing men to the fight for justice in Fort Worth, as well as making refugee kiddos feel welcome, known, and loved. When he’s not losing soccer games to 12 year olds at Ladera or cheering on the Horned Frogs, Ty is probably drinking a glass of wine and reading a book (or sports Twitter) on his Fairmount front porch, accompanied by his wife Sarah and their dog Bear.
Director of Operations for The Net + Worthy Co.
Sarah came to The Net in 2012 while finishing her degree at Texas Christian University. After meeting Melissa and hearing her passion to change and invest in the lives of the poor & marginalized in Fort Worth, Sarah was convinced she should throw her heart and soul into creating The Net!
